How to convert AVIF to JPG

    1. Drop your AVIF files onto the box above, or click it to choose them.

    What is AVIF?

AVIF is a newer, very efficient format based on the AV1 video codec. Files are tiny, but many apps, older devices and upload forms still don’t accept it.

    Why convert to JPG?

JPG (or JPEG) is the most widely supported photo format. It uses lossy compression, so files are small, and it works in every app, website and printer.

Because JPG can’t store transparency, transparent parts of your AVIF images are filled with a background color. White is used by default; pick another color in the settings.

    Private and free

Your images are converted by your own browser and never uploaded to a server. There’s no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on how many times you use it.

    Frequently asked questions

How do I convert AVIF to JPG?

Drop your AVIF files onto the box above or click to choose them. They are converted to JPG straight away; press Download for each one, or Download all to get a ZIP. You can change the output format or quality in the settings at any time.

    What is an AVIF file?

AVIF is a newer image format with excellent compression. Modern browsers display it, but many apps, photo editors and upload forms don’t accept it yet, so converting to JPG is the safe choice for sharing.

What quality should I choose for JPG?

A quality of 85–92 keeps photos looking the same as the original for almost everyone, at a fraction of the size. Use 95 or above for printing, or 70–80 when you need a smaller file for email or the web.

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. The conversion happens inside your browser on your own device, so your photos are never uploaded, stored or seen by anyone. It also works offline once the page has loaded.

Is there a limit on file size or number of images?

You can convert up to 50 images at a time. There is no file size limit beyond what your device’s memory can handle; very large photos (over 50 megapixels) may be slow on older phones.
