How to convert images
Drop your images onto the box above, or click it to choose files from your computer or phone. Pick the format you want: JPG, PNG or WebP. Each image is converted straight away, and you can download them one by one or all together as a ZIP file.
Private by design
Most online converters upload your photos to a server. This one doesn’t: your browser does the conversion on your own device, so personal photos and documents never leave it. HEIC photos from iPhones are decoded with a built-in decoder, so they work in Chrome, Edge and Firefox on Windows and Android too.
Which format should I use?
JPG works everywhere and is best for sharing photos. PNG keeps every pixel and supports transparency, so use it for logos, screenshots and graphics. WebP gives the smallest files for websites and supports transparency, but some older apps can’t open it.
Frequently asked questions
Which formats can I convert?
You can open JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, HEIC/HEIF, GIF (first frame) and BMP files, and save them as JPG, PNG or WebP.
Which format should I choose?
Choose JPG for photos you want to share or upload anywhere. Choose PNG for logos, screenshots or images that need a transparent background. Choose WebP for the smallest files on websites.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. The conversion happens inside your browser on your own device, so your photos are never uploaded, stored or seen by anyone. It also works offline once the page has loaded.
Does converting remove photo location and camera data?
Yes. Converting re-draws the image, so EXIF data such as GPS location, camera model and date taken is not copied to the new file. The photo’s rotation is applied first, so it still appears the right way up.
Can I convert HEIC photos on Windows or Android?
Yes. This converter includes its own HEIC decoder, so it works in Chrome, Edge and Firefox on any computer or phone. The decoder (about 3 MB) only downloads when you add a HEIC file.
