    What is HEIC?

HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) is the format iPhones and iPads use for photos by default. It saves space, but Windows, Android, many websites and most browsers can’t open it.

    Why convert to PNG?

PNG is a lossless format that keeps every pixel and supports transparent backgrounds. It is ideal for logos, screenshots and graphics, but photos saved as PNG are large.

    Private and free

Your images are converted by your own browser and never uploaded to a server. There’s no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on how many times you use it.

    Frequently asked questions

How do I convert HEIC to PNG?

Drop your HEIC files onto the box above or click to choose them. They are converted to PNG straight away; press Download for each one, or Download all to get a ZIP. You can change the output format or quality in the settings at any time.

Why are my iPhone photos HEIC?

iPhones save photos as HEIC by default because the files are about half the size of JPG. To take JPG photos instead, go to Settings → Camera → Formats and choose Most Compatible. iPhones also convert to JPG automatically when you share by email or AirDrop to some devices.

Why is my PNG bigger than the original?

PNG is lossless: it stores every pixel exactly, while JPG, WebP and HEIC throw away detail you can’t see. That makes a photo saved as PNG several times larger. Choose PNG when you need transparency or plan to edit the image; choose JPG for sharing photos.

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. The conversion happens inside your browser on your own device, so your photos are never uploaded, stored or seen by anyone. It also works offline once the page has loaded.

Is there a limit on file size or number of images?

You can convert up to 50 images at a time. There is no file size limit beyond what your device’s memory can handle; very large photos (over 50 megapixels) may be slow on older phones.
