How to find and replace text
Paste your text, type what to find and what to replace it with. Every match is highlighted in the preview and the result updates as you type.
Turn on Regex for patterns: \d+ matches any number, ^ the start of each line, and (\w+) captures a word you can reuse as $1.
Frequently asked questions
How do I use capture groups?
Turn on Regex and wrap part of the pattern in brackets. In the replacement, $1 inserts the first group, $2 the second, and so on. For example, find (\w+)@(\w+) and replace with $2 at $1.
What does “Whole words” do?
It only matches the search text when it stands as a complete word, so replacing “cat” won’t change “category”.
Can I replace line breaks?
Yes, with Regex on. Use \n to match a line break, for example to join lines with a comma.
